Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Schools Clinical lead

A Bit About Amy

Hello 😊 I’m Amy, a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and School Clinical Lead here at Rebecca Pearson Speech Therapy. I graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in Psychology in 2012 and from Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree in Speech and Language Pathology in 2017. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT). I have worked in both the private sector and for the NHS. Through this I have gained a wealth of experience working with children aged 0-19 with a range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in clinics, schools, nurseries, and their homes. I am part of the School team and enjoy working collaboratively with staff members supporting children with SLCN in the classroom. I have a keen interest in selective mutism and have received training in this area. I am passionate about supporting children to overcome their phobia of talking in school and in other situations outside of their home. I am also Makaton trained and I believe in the benefits of using this form of communication from birth. In my spare time I enjoy days out with my husband and 2 children, watching crime documentaries and socialising with friends.
