Our Story

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Rebecca Pearson Speech and Language Therapy was founded in 2018 whilst Rebecca was pregnant with her little boy.

Rebecca knew she wanted to create a future that meant she could be more flexible after starting a family, however, her primary goal was to work in a profession that she loves, providing a consistent and effective approach to therapy.

Rebecca's aim is to provide a personable and holistic approach in supporting your child's communication goals, and also listening and understanding the needs of the whole family.

Rebecca and her team are extremely passionate about what they do and this is always reflected in their work with children, their families, and caregivers.

Megan Stanley
Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist
BSc (Hons), MHCPC, MRCSLT

Hello! My name is Megan!

I have a degree in Speech Pathology and Therapy from Manchester Metropolitan University. I am a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

I have experience within community clinics, language resource units, nurseries and schools as well as client's homes. I have enjoyed working with children of all ages with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties such as speech sound disorders including phonological delay/disorder, receptive and expressive language difficulties, and communication difficulties associated with neurodevelopmental disorders.

I am passionate about supporting children to become effective communicators by working collaboratively with you and your child and any key adults involved in your child's day to day life to become confident in recognising, responding to and building on any attempts of communication. I will work with you to integrate evidence-based speech, language and communication strategies into your child's daily routines and activities in order to maximise their communicative potential. I aim to build strong trusting relationships throughout a child's therapy journey and encourage learning through play by making therapy as fun and engaging as possible.

I believe every child is capable of amazing things and deserves to be listened to regardless of how they communicate. I look forward to working with you and your child to develop strong foundations for communication that open doors to a future of unlimited opportunities and a lifetime of learning.

Outside of work, I love getting cosy with a good book or crime drama, spending time with friends (and dogs!) and being by the sea.

Hello, I'm Ellen! I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist who graduated from De Montfort University Leicester back in 2017. I am registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC).

I have developed my knowledge and skills over the last 4 years in the NHS service across North Wales. Over the first 2 years of my career in the NHS I worked with school aged children and specifically with bilingual Welsh-English children who had speech, language and communication difficulties. Most recently, however, I have specialised in working with pre-school aged children (0-5 years) providing effective and evidence based assessment and therapy to children with speech sound, language and social communication difficulties.

One of my recent projects funded by the Welsh Government has included providing a variety of different training programs to nurseries, schools and Early Years Practitioners across Flintshire.

I am a tutor in the ICan ‘Early Talk Boost’ and ‘Talk Boost KS1’ language interventions as well as Hanen- ‘It Takes two Talk’ and ‘More than Words’. I am also an Elklan 0-3 Tutor, a GroBrain Toddler Facilitator and I'm Makaton level 3 trained.

I am passionate about providing an holistic approach to therapy which includes the whole child’s support network.

When I'm not working, I love having cuddles with my dog, watching marvel films and cooking Indian food with my partner.

Laura O'Keefe
Office Manager

Hello, I'm Laura! I have worked in the NHS for 12 years, first working in Occupational Therapy Out-Patients, then onto IT, specialising in creating clinics for outpatients and building wards. This gave me great experience of both outpatients and patients, and also all the background information of working with healthcare systems.

I have a young child who has a language delay.  This allows me to completely understand what parents and children visiting our clinic are going through, who struggle in the same area.  This enables me to connect with on a different level than most people, including family members, as I am on the same journey.

Through Rebecca Pearson Speech and Language Clinic, I hope we can build a community where parents and children never feel alone on their speech and language journey.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, going out for meals, and cooking.
